Σε βίντεο που κυκλοφορεί στα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης για τα γεγονότα της Παρασκευής 19/8 και την επιχείρηση της αστυνομίας στο καμπ του Ελαιώνα ξεδιπλώνεται όλη η κρατική βαρβαρότητα με ξυλοδαρμούς, φωνές, απρόκλητες επιθέσεις των δυνάμεων καταστολής απέναντι σε αλληλέγγυους, μετανάστ(ρι)ες και τα ανήλικα παιδιά τους. Η προσπάθεια του Νότη Μηταράκη να καλύψει την κρατική βαρβαρότητα με ψεύδη, επιρρίπτοντας τις ευθύνες για τις βιαιότητες στις/στους μετανάστ(ρι)ες για μία ακόμα φορά καταρρέει, εξάλλου ο γκεμπελισμός και η συνεχής λάσπη με ψευδή στοιχεία είναι επίσημη κυβερνητική πρακτική.
Υπενθυμίζουμε, το κράτος εδώ και αρκετό καιρό επιχειρεί να εκκενώσει το καμπ στον Ελαιώνα και να εκτοπίσει βίαια τις/τους μετανάστ(ρι)ες εκτός αστικού ιστού, δυσχεραίνοντας ακόμη περισσότερο την προσπάθειά τους να επιβιώσουν σε ένα άκρως αφιλόξενο κράτος και να βρουν δουλειές ώστε να μπορέσουν να ενσωματωθούν. Η απάνθρωπη μεταναστευτική πολιτική με δολοφονίες μεταναστ(ρι)ών, pushbacks, διώξεις, ξυλοδαρμούς κ.α. συνεχίζεται με τη στήριξη φυσικά της Ε.Ε.
Το μίσος και η ευχαρίστηση που αντλούν οι δυνάμεις καταστολής από τους ξυλοδαρμούς και την επιβολή της εξουσίας απέναντι σε μετανάστ(ρι)ες και αλληλέγγυους είναι χαρακτηριστικά.

‘Today I will die. Today I’ll be killed with my baby’.
I was an eyewitness. Around midnight I went to Eleonas camp, in the outskirts of Athens, and I saw everything. The protesters tried to prevent the camp manager from entering the camp so she would not be able to plan transfers. Her mission is to evacuate and close Eleonas camp, which is the one and only camp in the city of Athens and transfer its inhabitants to camps outside of the city.
The camp manager, Maria-Dimitra Nioutsikou, came around 6-7 in the morning along with the police. Protesters set up barricades using trash cans to prevent police and the manager from entering the camp and by doing so delay the procedure. In the first row of the demonstration were mainly women from the Congo with their children. The manager marched in between 7 to 10 police officers. They approached the protesters who shouted: “Go home! We don’t want you here.” The police retreated. About 15 min later about 30 reinforcements anti-terror police arrived.
This time the police showed no mercy. They attacked with violence even though 5 pregnant women stood at the first line. They shouted: ‘Today I will die. Today I’ll be killed with my baby’. The police had come to invade the camp. They started kicking the solidarity protests and together with them pushed the pregnant women and small children inside the camp. I have never seen such behavior of police officers towards pregnant women.
I believe that the controversy surrounding the management’s entry into the camp could have been resolved through dialogue. But this was clearly a power play. It seemed to me like I was seeing a war, a battle for further displacement and against solidarity.
